The story begins.....June 2015.......Corbie ,Picardy ,France.
The Photos in the Attic team was in France to research and write the first script for this amazing story.
The discovery of the Thuillier photographic plates in Vignacourt and the story of the Great War are the historical elements that provide an opportunity to provide a closer look into life behind the front line during world war 1. A unique and enchanting look into the lives of soldiers and the French people......a bond that lasts today.
Our story was to focus on historical accuracy and the reality of those times and entwine characters into the events that changed their lives.
This creative team has spent time visiting the main sites where these characters lived ,breathed and interacted under sometimes horrific conditions.
The battlegrounds of Armentiaires, Poziers, Mouquet Farm,Villers Brettoneux and the Somme are all places where Australians sacrificed their lives in a war that would eventually claim over 60 000 Australian men......some never to be found and offered a place of memorial in one of the 100's of War Grave sites in France and Belgium.
Vignacourt and the small villages and towns behind the lines were in stark contrast to these places of death and suffering.
.
It is a story of history, life, death and romance in a time that changed people's lives forever...........all captured through the lense of a camera by two people not aware of the legacy that they would leave.
This is "Photos in the Attic."
